Always a popular show, the exhibition is on from 9th May to 18th June, with up to fifty works including oil, watercolour, pastel and textiles on display.

Styles range from photorealism to expressionistic and well known local artists such as John McCombes, Sheila Dewsbury and Peter Stanaway will be exhibiting. Most of the work will be for sale.

Now in its 65th year, the group is comprised of over fifty enthusiastic members wishing to paint and exhibit their work, with artists taking inspiration from the rural landscape and cityscapes as well as historical cotton mills and machinery.

Later in June, the group will also be hosting the popular ‘Journées de Peinture’, when artists from Europe and America paint outdoors in Saddleworth.

Examples of their work from previous visits will be on display in the ballroom of the Civic Hall during the festival.

The Saddleworth Group of Artists is a dynamic organisation, full of ideas to encourage interest and bring art to the public view. The group welcomes applications for membership or offers of new exhibition spaces.
