The free rally, which has been organised by Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club with support from Oldham Town Centre Partnership, returns on Sunday, July 12 from 10am until 3.30pm.

The organisers have been busy arranging for around 50 cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles to be on display, including pre-war tourers, 1960s sports and American classics.

Vehicles will be judged during the show in ten different categories – with one owner being presented with the ‘Car of the Show’ title.

There will also be a host of ‘automotive’ themed entertainment including a unique Comedy Car Boot Stall and performances from Oldham Theatre Workshop.

These include the Adventurous Mr Toad – Meet the marvellous Mr Toad and Ratty and their magnificent handcrafted car.

Look out for a car boot stall with a difference, where not everything is at it seems at a Comedy Car Boot Sale.

Car show regulars Billy Bedlam Jazz Band are returning with their traditional jazz and big band sounds.

There will also be the chance to take a taxi ride with Oldham Theatre Workshop’s fun street theatre show, O’ld-em Taxis.

Councillor Jim McMahon, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “This event is a great opportunity for families and motoring enthusiasts to visit the town centre and see cars from days gone by.

“The event is growing year on year and previous shows have been a great success. Visitors will also be able to visit all the shops and attractions our town centre has to offer.”

The event starts from 10am until 3.30pm along High Street, Oldham, where owners will also be on hand to chat about their car’s history to fellow enthusiasts.

Entry in the show is free and anyone wishing to take part should email or call 0161 770 4516.

A number of food stalls from Royton Real Food Market will also be selling goods and the Sunday Car Boot will be taking place as usual on Tommyfield Outdoor Market.
