AN ENTERTAINING evening of live music will raise the roof at Dobcross Band and Social Club as they fundraise to help get their brass bands to the Menin Gate.
‘LIVE AND LOCAL’ on Saturday July 11 will see new wave classics Non-SkiLLs and indie-rock group The Divide take to the stage from 7.30pm.
Local band Non-SkiLLs originally formed in the late 1970s at school and then reformed about 10 years ago to gig around the area, influenced by bands like the Clash, Buzzcocks and the Pixies.
The Divide are an up-and-coming Oldham rock band who do covers from the likes of Kings of Leon to Blur as well as write their own material.

There will also be a raffle with top quality prizes including an overnight stay for two in the Lake District and original artwork, and the bar will be open until late.
Entry is free but donations will be welcomed on arrival and hot supper will be available to buy, including a free entry into the raffle and £1 donation from each supper will go to the brass bands.
Proceeds raised will go towards helping Dobcross Silver Band and Brass Monkeys fund their visit to the Menin Gate in August to play the Last Post.
So far, they have raised around £13,000 to cover the costs of uniform and travel so they can go on the once-in-a-lifetime trip.
