Just six months after taking off his chef’s apron at Antonio’s the 22-year-old chef and entrepreneur has made the Italian connection once more on Mansfield Road, Micklehurst.

And the former manager of Ferattii’s restaurant in Mossley is back with a promise to his customers, old and new.

“The menu is smaller than it was when I first opened in December 2015,” he explained. “But that has allowed me to do all the preparation and cooking myself.

“It means the care and attention to detail will be even better as will the efficiency and quality control. Our choices may be fewer but the taste will be greater.”

Anthony, who has also worked as breakfast supervisor at the Mercure Hotel in central Manchester, left the popular takeaway in August 2016.

“I was offered a job in the city centre and at the time thought it was the best way to move forward towards opening a similar business in the city centre,” he explained.

“But I’ve had a change of heart and when there was chance to comeback to the shop, I decided to take it.”

There may be a stream lining of the menu but there’s still a wide variety of starters and main meals on offer including pizza, pasta and risottos.

Find Antonio’s Express Italian Takeaway at 30 Mansfield Road, Micklehurst, OL5 9EH or call them on 01457 362012. The shop opens from 5-10.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday for collections while there is also a delivery service offered. Their full menu is online at: www.antonioexpress.co.uk
