DARING DENTISTS tackled 1,000 miles in May to raise money for Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.
Staff from Apollonia House situated, in Grasscroft, challenged themselves to walk, run or cycle a cumulative 1,000 miles throughout the month – which they pipped by seven miles.
They were inspired to take on the challenge for OMRT who helped out in January when their dentist Andy Lane slipped and badly injured his leg walking home from work.

Laura Rice, associate dentist at Apollonia, said: “OMRT were on hand to help immediately, managing to winch Andy up to the top of a very precarious hill before the ambulance took him to the hospital.
“He has since made a full recovery and added many miles to our tally by continuing to walk to and from work.
“Since we finished fundraising, our receptionist’s son required OMRT’s services after a mountain bike accident so it looks like our support of them will be continuing, we are indebted to their wonderful service.”
Laura added: “We had a lot of fun doing the challenge. Some of the girls met at Dovestones on Wednesday evenings for a group run. Gill, our hygienist, starting running at ParkRun for the first time.”
The total figure is yet to be announced, and you can still donate £5 by texting OMRT11 £5 to 70070.
