Audience rocks at popular Party in the Park spectacle

DELPH rocked once more around 1,200 people headed to the popular Party in the Park spectacle.

The family event saw a great line-up of live bands and artists take to the stage throughout the afternoon at Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club, before a fireworks finale rounded off the 12th annual event.

Phil Beckwith, from the organising Wake Up Delph Team, said: “It was a fantastic event yet again.

“All the entertainment was top class and the day was rounded off with a great firework finale.

“There was one short rain shower but overall we were lucky and the weather cleared as the day went on and we all had a good time.”

Entertainment included the original Stax of Soul, local duo Sparks, The Fantastics, Elvis tribute Kirk Kreole, and ‘Walk Like A Man’, a tribute to the musical Jersey Boys.

Phil added: “We want to thank everybody who helped us in any way on the day, and all the people who supported us and came along to help make it a fantastic event.

“We’ve raised a substantial amount which will benefit Delph village through the Christmas lights switch-on event.”
