DELPH rocked once more around 1,200 people headed to the popular Party in the Park spectacle.
The family event saw a great line-up of live bands and artists take to the stage throughout the afternoon at Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club, before a fireworks finale rounded off the 12th annual event.
Phil Beckwith, from the organising Wake Up Delph Team, said: “It was a fantastic event yet again.
“All the entertainment was top class and the day was rounded off with a great firework finale.
“There was one short rain shower but overall we were lucky and the weather cleared as the day went on and we all had a good time.”
Entertainment included the original Stax of Soul, local duo Sparks, The Fantastics, Elvis tribute Kirk Kreole, and ‘Walk Like A Man’, a tribute to the musical Jersey Boys.
Phil added: “We want to thank everybody who helped us in any way on the day, and all the people who supported us and came along to help make it a fantastic event.
“We’ve raised a substantial amount which will benefit Delph village through the Christmas lights switch-on event.”
Plans for next year’s Party in the Park, which will be held on Saturday, September 15, are already underway and all corporate gazebos have been sold already.
υυ Delph’s Christmas Lights Switch-on will be held on December 2 from 4.30pm, including entertainment from Delph Brass Band and Oldham Scottish Pipe Band.
There will be a special visit by Father Christmas, carols, mince pies and mulled wine before the village’s Christmas lights are switched on by a special guest.
