A TOP Grasscroft garden once again proved a winner as an open day there raised £870.90 for the British Heart Foundation.
Tom Adamson and Doreen Tetlow have scooped numerous awards over 14 years for their garden, which includes luscious lawns, veg trugs, bright flowers and a unique Saddleworth signpost.

Their awards include honours in the Parish Council’s annual Saddleworth in Bloom Competition as well as the Oldham Council Private Garden Competition.
This year, their garden was visited by top the RHS Northwest and Champion of Champions judges after they were crowned winners of Oldham Council’s Overall Private Garden competition last year.
And kind-hearted Tom and Doreen decided to make the most of their hard-work and preparations by also sharing their garden with locals for one day only last month.
Around 70 guests perused the stunning garden and enjoyed a raffle, light refreshments and a bric-a-brac stall at the event, which was kindly supported by around 50 sponsors.
A gas barbecue, donated by B&Q, was won on a silent auction by Derek and Jenny White while Adele was victorious in ‘guess how many marbles in the jar’.
Tom said: “We were delighted with how the event went and how much we raised.
“We were extremely lucky to receive gift cards, vouchers, cakes, raffle prizes and bric a brac items, and we were blessed with glorious sunshine which helped to make the event very successful.
“We wanted to put on the event in aid of the British Heart Foundation to help raise money to help towards their life-saving research.”
