Saddleworth Round Table organised the two-day Charity Saddleworth Beer Festivalto offer discerning drinkers a range of favourites, including First Chop, All Gates, Saltaire, Hornbeam, Tatton, Marbel, Copper Dragon and Boggort.

And in pride of place was ‘Super Silver Owl’, which was launched to celebrate the 1000th brew from Greenfield Brewery.

The brewery hit the milestone after 12 years so decided to produce the unique drink, which is based on their award-winning Silver Owl but extra strong at 5.2per cent.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Round Table’s future events for the community, which include musical extravaganza Sadd Fest and a festive Winter Wonderland.

Ian Eardley, Chairman of the Saddleworth Round Table, said: “This year’s festival was a truly resounding success. We had a record turnout.

“Our own team worked marvels and I’d like to pay particular thanks to the museum, our sponsor Grasscroft Properties and Julian Garratt of The Wine Vault Uppermill for their help.”
