Best Allotment award presented by Delph Club

GREEN-FINGERED gardener David Hague has won the best allotment award in Delph.

He was presented with a cup by Cllr Nikki Kirkham at the annual meeting of the allotments society at The Delph Club.

The presentation was a precursor to the first new Delph flower and vegetable show which will be held at the club on Saturday, September 12.

The event has been organised by new committee members Gilbert Symes, Pam Preston, Cllr Nikki Kirkham and Natalie Dunn.  Along the traditional 60 classes for produce, there will be ten special children’s section for 16 and under. Schedules will be placed on all Saddleworth Parish Council notice boards and throughout local businesses.

And there will be a chance to buy produce freshly grown on Delph allotments after judging when it is auctioned off by Gilbert.
