Best-selling author to bring Ancient Greece to life at Saddleworth Children’s Book Group

BEST-SELLING AUTHOR Saviour Pirotta will be sharing stories about Ancient Greece at Saddleworth Children’s Book Group on Saturday, November 19.

TSaddleworth children's book grouphe Yorkshire-based author has had more than 100 books published during his 30-year career and is particularly well-known for his thrilling retellings of myths and legends.

His visit to the children’s book group will give youngsters a chance to hear some exciting stories from Ancient Greece and to enjoy some of Saviour’s books.

He will also be giving some top tips so that children can get started with writing their own non-fiction books.

There will be a raffle with bags of books to be won and a cafe with tea, coffee and home-baked treats.

Children (and their adults) are welcome to dress up in Ancient Greek style if they wish!

The event is from 2-3.30pm on Saturday November 19, at Sandy Lane Community Church, Dobcross as part of Non-Fiction November, an annual celebration of the best fact-based books.

It is recommended for ages 6-11 but all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Saddleworth Children’s Book Group was set up nearly three years ago by a group of local mums with the aim of promoting reading and a love of books. It is linked to the Federation of Children’s Book Groups (FCBG), a national registered charity.
