DEDICATED FUNDRAISERS from the Oldham Women’s Trust Fund raised £446 for The Christie through a Big Band concert last month.
The Alan Bracewell Big Band entertained at Royton Oddfellows Social Club, with ticket proceeds going to the charity and bringing the group’s fundraising total to £25,000 this year.
The team of women invite you to join them at their next event, the ‘Accrington Pals’ performed by Saddleworth Players at the Millgate in Delph on Sunday, November 23.
The play starts at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £8 each, are available from Lynn 01457 820281.
Previous fundraisers organised by the caring group include a ‘Fizz’ fashion show, a walk around Dovestone Reservoir, coffee mornings, and supermarket collections.
The Oldham branch of the WTF was founded in the late 1950s and currently has 17 members who meet regularly to plan their fundraising strategy.
Over the past five years the ladies have contributed £120,000 to The Christie Appeal and the overall figure for their efforts since their launch exceeds £1million.
