A FASCINATING range of birds of prey will visit Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre on Saturday 11 June.
Visitors will be able to experience the birds first-hand with a static display from Falconry UK between 11am and 4pm.
Then they will be treated to an informative talk and handling session at 12.30pm and 3pm.
Claire Atkinson, duty manager Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre, said: “There is always a great atmosphere at our Falconry Day which is why we keep bringing it back.
“The keepers are really knowledgeable and visitors love to handle the birds and pose for photos.”
Boat trips into Britain’s longest canal tunnel will also be running throughout the day with the first trip scheduled for 11am.
Families can also take advantage of the outdoor adventure play area, soft play centre and free face painting from the Canal & River Explorers team.
Admission to the event is free. For more information contact the visitor centre on 01484 844298 or visit the website www.canalrivertrust.org.uk/standedge
