Blondie, Motown and Morgan to raise roof at charity concert in Uppermill

A SOULFUL seven-piece band is teaming up with two special guests to raise the roof at their annual charity gig this month in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

‘Blondie meets Motown meets Morgan’ will see the Technique Soul and Motown Band perform live along with separate sets from Blondie tribute singer Roxanne and local entertainer Morgan.

The concert, now in its third year, will be held at Uppermill Civic Hall on Saturday, November 28, starting at 7pm.Uppermill 2015 poster

There will be a professional bar service and a Grand Raffle with great prizes to raise further funds for the Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care for adults with non-curable and life-threatening illnesses.

Technique band member Mel Brierley said their association with the Hospice began at a school reunion about five years ago and they are keen to continue supporting the charity.

He added: “This year differs from the two previous events as in addition to our sets of totally live music, there will be a separate Blondie tribute singer and vocal entertainer Morgan will add his unique talents.”

Tickets for ‘Blondie meets Motown meets Morgan’ cost £10 and are on sale at Uppermill Post Office. Tickets can also be reserved for collection on the night by contacting Technique online www.techniqueonline.net or by calling 07939 916646.
