AN AUSTERLANDS teenager has raised £1,065 for Cancer Research UK after pushing himself to the limit in a grueling Tough Mudder challenge.

Bradley Hicks, 17, took on the 10-mile feat on behalf of a friend who he has known since he was eight years old who has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He said: “It was the first time I’ve done something like this but I really enjoyed it as well as raising lots of money for charity. To be able to present a cheque for £1,065 feels fantastic.
“I wanted to make people more aware of how fast prostate cancer and other types of cancer can occur and affect other people’s lives as well as those diagnosed.”
Bradley, whose brother is top rugby league referee Robert Hicks and whose family run the Three Crowns, was sponsored by family and friends as he took on the epic challenge.
Tough Mudder is a team-oriented obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit.
