Brand new libary unveiled at St Mary’s Primary in Greenfield

AN AMAZING ceremony thrilled pupils and staffat St Mary’s School, Greenfield, as they celebrated the opening of their fantastic new library.

Fundraising efforts of the school’s Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) covered the costs of the new addition to the school.

And the library was named after departing PTFA vice chair Mrs Joanne White to recognise her outstanding contribution to the school over the last few years.

Mrs White commented: “I feel incredibly honoured to have had the library named after me.  It was a total and unexpected surprise on the day.

“I have enjoyed and feel proud of being part of the successful PTFA over the last ten years.

“St Mary’s School PTFA, led by Jason Taylor, all do an amazing job giving up their free time and energy to make a difference for the children.”

Now, the PTFA are planning their highly anticipated annual Family Festival at the school on Saturday, June 27. The traditional fair starts at 3pm, with stalls, games and food.

Then from 6pm to 11pm there will be live music including The Velocetos, The Copy Cats, Professor Fonque and the All Stars and Andy Lee.
