A TRIO of teenagers are taking on a run with a difference next month to raise money for charity…
Amelia Shaw, Helen Clark, both 17, and Amy Ellershaw, 18, will tackle the 5K ‘Pretty Muddy Race For Life’ on July 11 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
And to make the challenge harder, the course includes various obstacles and lots and lots of mud.
Oldham Sixth Form student Amelia explained: “I’m doing the mud run with two of my best friends and we wanted to do something fun and different.
“We’re doing it in aid of an amazing cause and it’ll also be Helen’s 18th birthday so it should be a good day.
“None of us have done anything like it before but it seemed like something we could do both to raise a lot of money and also have a great time doing it.”

The girls, who all play for Diggle Brass Band, have already raised £100 towards their £500 target and have set up a Just Giving page to collect more sponsorship money.
