PEOPLE living in Oldham are being challenged to step outside their comfort zone and walk across hot coals to raise money for mental health, learning disability and autism services.
Pennine Care Charity is inviting people from across Oldham and Greater Manchester to take part in a special fire walk at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust’s headquarters in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The event will take place on Monday, November 2, from 5pm to 8pm, giving participants the chance to take on the unusual challenge while raising vital funds for local services.
Open to anyone aged 12 and over, the fire walk will see participants walk barefoot across a bed of glowing embers after receiving comprehensive safety training and guidance from experienced fire walk professionals.
Money raised will support mental health, learning disability and autism services across the communities served by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Pennine Care Charity raises funds for projects, activities and improvements that go beyond NHS funding, helping to improve experiences and opportunities for patients, service users, carers and local communities.
Recent projects supported by the charity include funding for a gardening and allotment group in Oldham, helping people experiencing psychosis as part of their recovery.
