Coffee with a copper initiative successfully launched

THE inaugural GMP Saddleworth and Lees ‘coffee with a copper’ initiative has been successfully launched.

Local bobby PC Lee Cullen and PCSO Lee Lockwood joined customers at Reclamation Room, Uppermill for an informal chat and brew on Tuesday, December 18.

The duo dispensed invaluable information about crime prevention advice as well as handing out leaflets and UV marker pens.

The ‘coffee with a copper’ sessions are a more informal take on their traditional police surgeries which are held in the community.

They are intended to be held monthly and run alongside current crime surgeries held at Tesco in Greenfield, Delph Methodist Church, Newbank Garden Centre, Lees Library and Lees Co-op.

Just turn up on the day to discuss any questions or concerns you have about things in the community.

Check out the Independent’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for dates of future coffee chats.
