A REFURBISHMENT at Delph Post Office is taking place to create a more modern and convenient branch for locals.
The Post Office, run by Eric and Wendy Dodd on King Street, will be closed for up to seven days during September/October while the changes are made.
No consultation is required as the Post Office is not moving premises, but comments about the plans will be accepted up to and including August 4.
The transformation would see the Post Office offer an open plan style service point with extended opening hours from Mon – Fri 08:00 – 18:00 and Sat 09:00 – 17:30.
Customers will still be able to get most of the Post Office products and services while more services will also be available at the nearby Shaw Post Office on Rochdale Road.
The Post Office is seeking views on the plans from locals, including why they use this Post Office, what they think of the proposed new-look branch and extended opening hours, and comments about the range of products and services available.
The Post Office will not respond to individuals but all feedback received will be taken into consideration when plans are finalised with the postmaster.
Send in feedback by completing the convenient online survey: link postofficeviews.co.uk and entering the unique code for this branch 16142499
Alternatively, email: comments@postoffice.co.uk or send your comments by Freepost to: ‘FREEPOST – Your Comments’
Nearby Dobcross Post Office, recently taken over by Anna Roscoe, is also undergoing modernisation and will be closed from August 2-15.
