Delph boxer gutted after fight rescheduled due to injury

DELPH BOXER Andy Kremner is “gutted” his fight scheduled for later this month has been postponed after he sustained an injury in training.

The 23-year-old light welterweight was due to fight at Robin Park Sports Centre, Wigan, on Friday, April 22 in search of his seventh straight win since turning professional.

But the date has now been postponed and is likely to be rescheduled for Saturday, May 21 in Oldham, with his opponent to be confirmed.

Kremner explained: “I have sustained an injury during training and I have been advised by the physio for complete rest for the next two weeks.

“As you can imagine, I’m gutted. But these things happen and I hope will all continue to support me.”

It has been a frustrating start to 2016 for Kremner who has not fought since November with the delay caused by a change of management.

Kremner has signed for Steve Wood’s VIP Promotions and is hoping to be more active in the remainder of the year as he pursues a title shot.
