INNOVATIVE virtual reality equipment for students with unique educational needs has helped make a Delph-based tech company’s dreams of winning a top international award come true.
Inclusive Technology won the ‘Best Solution for Exceptional Students’ category at the SIIA CODiE Awards 2019 after impressing judges with its Inclusive ClassVR equipment.
The virtual and augmented reality solution for the classroom provides immersive, sensory experiences where students can safely interact and explore virtual environments without the restriction of physical limitations.
It is a perfect solution for students with learning difficulties, sensory impairments and physical disabilities to use within special education classrooms, settings or establishments.
Teachers can monitor what students are seeing and keep everyone on track, while guiding them through the experience, highlighting points of interest and promoting collaboration and peer discussion.
Inclusive ClassVR, only launched in September 2018,received fantastic feedback from the award judges, including being called a “truly an outstanding and revolutionary educational tool”.
One judge commented: “This the first time I have seen VR used in a learning environment where it was not just a gimmick. This is a legitimate learning tool.”
Another added: “It is so exciting to think a technology has the potential to help students not only achieve academic success, but also reach beyond the classroom and help students learn for success in their daily lives. Truly amazing!”
Chris Thornton, Creative Director at Inclusive Technology, received the award during the SIIA Annual Conference & CODiE Awards in San Francisco in June.
He said: “We are delighted and grateful to receive our second CODiE award in addition to our existing award for Best Solution for Special Needs Students for ChooseIt! Maker 3.
“These awards highlight the very best products, innovators and leaders in today’s tech market, so we are delighted to have earned this recognition.”
