DELPH Cricket Club has recruited two new players for its 2018 season.
Pakistani Waqas Maqsood, a left-arm pace bowler, is the club’s new overseas player.
Maqsood, who played for Baildon in the Bradford League this summer, has an excellent record in first-class cricket.
Delph have also captured batsman/spinner Chris Tipper, from Glossop. He has played for Lancashire seconds and Cheshire in the past.
Captain Andy Gleave is delighted to have completed the signings so early, but says the club is still looking for an all-rounder to complete its rebuilding after last season’s loss of several key players.
