Angela Mayall, from Designer Travel, put a destination under the Spotlight – DUBAI
ONE OF my best selling destinations is Dubai… and with non-stop sunshine, luxurious hotels, amazing offers and three flights a day from Manchester with Emirates it’s easy to see why.
Guests who love luxury will love Dubai. It is exceptionally opulent but not intimidating. Enjoy fine food and dining and, while not cheap, the quality makes it good value for money.
Many of the five star hotels offer complementary half board packages at specific times of year – great value!
The range of hotels is vast – along Jumeirah Beach and the Palm there is a wealth of choice in terms of size, price and star rating.
Choose the six star Burj al Arab if you want something really special or those who are family orientated can head for the Mina A’Salem, Al Qasr or the Summer Houses.
Other options include The Jumeirah Beach itself (one of the original hotels), Atlantis on The Palm or the Zabeel Saray, a property that only opened recently.
Atlantis on The Palm has its own dedicated waterpark with an added bonus of its very own dolphin aquarium. Wild Wadi Water Park is also fantastic and most of the Jumeirah Hotels offer complementary access.
You can indoor ski, ski on sand dunes, spend a night in the desert or try out some water-sports.
It’s also shoppers’ paradise! Forget that Dubai has some of the best malls in the world as the Souks are also fantastic – fruit, spices or gold… barter to your hearts content.
Also try and schedule in a visit to Al Karama – an interesting experience with some very interesting finds!
Getting around in Dubai is easy – there are taxis everywhere that are clean and reasonably priced.
Overall, it’s a great destination. If you haven’t been make sure you add it to your bucket list. You might fall in love with Dubai and, if not, at least you tried it for yourself!
