MUSIC WILL raise the roof at Diggle Band Club for the return of annual festival Digg Fest on Saturday, September 27 after last year’s successful event raised £1,500 for charities.Digg Fest 2014

The entertainment will begin at 2pm with opening sets from The Stallies, Bo Weavil, Mike Sweeney and Paddy O’Hare, The Cherry Hintons, Non Skills and Drums and Wires.

Other music acts range from Rock to Jazz, Indie to Country, Blues to Alternative, and even one of the 1980’s most definitive genres – New Wave – to ensure there is something for all music lovers.

As well as music, the event will play host to a children’s play area, a Real Ale Bar and stalls, including Diggle Roast Lamb and a BBQ.

Funds from this year’s event will go to Oldham Mountain Rescue, Christie’s Allsorts and Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, all of which were nominated by the community.

Tom Robinson, from The Friends of Diggle Band Club who have organised the event, said: “We were overwhelmed with the success of last year’s event, and we are proud to support these charities.

“The bands are first class musicians, each with their own unique style, so there really is something to for everyone.  We look forward to seeing you there.”

Tickets cost £5 in advance or £6 on the door, with under 12s free. Tickets (special Digg-Fest wristbands) can be purchased from Diggle Band Club or Diggle Post Office.
