A FAMILY Fun Day discovering ‘Giant Insects And Other Amazing Fossils’ will be held at Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill on Saturday, June 21.
The event has been organised by The Friends of Saddleworth Museum, Oldham Geological Society and Eye Opener Experience, in association with Rockwatch.
The aim is to expand the story of the local landscape and its underlying rocks under the care of Friends’ Committee Member Jo Holt, who is also a member of Oldham Geological Society, and other volunteers.
As an introduction to this, this event will be held in the Museum’s Gallery and garden area between 11am-3pm to help fire up the interest of young people in their local rocks.
Children’s tickets are £2.50 (to cover the cost of materials for the activities) with no charge for ‘Rockwatch’ members or adults; all children under 11 must be accompanied.
