Double trophy delight for pupils at Greenfield Primary

THERE WAS double delight at Greenfield Primary as pupils scooped two trophies in the same week.

First, a team of year six pupils won the annual Saddleworth and Lees School’s Safety Quiz – meaning the school clinched top spot for the third year in a row.

The team – which was Afif Sajid, James Allonby, Samantha Laister and Lizzie Glover-Jones – received the trophy from Saddleworth Parish Council Vice-Chairman Councillor Neil Allsopp.

Then a few days later, there was more success for the school in the Saddleworth Primary Schools Swimming League as the girls team finished in first place.

The swimmers – Samantha Laister, Lizzie Glover-Jones, Heather Price and Hannah Stewart – saw off competition from seven other schools to earn their medals.

The boys team put in a strong performance and finished fourth in their league.
