A POPULAR flower shop in Uppermill received a bright treat of its own after winning a competition to have a stylish makeover – all the way from the Netherlands.
Vicky Newby and Jodie Bhondoo, owners at Eden in the Square, entered the competition last year with Dutch flower supplies Fides, who deliver to the shop four times a week.

Judges decided their creative arrangement using Pinot Blanc chrysanthemums was the best entry across the whole of the North West.
So, stylist Rick and grower Peter made the overseas trip to give the shop a revamp, bringing along a host of fresh flowers, new furniture and decorations.
Jodie, 27, said: “They found vases downstairs that we have had for years and used those in ways we would never have thought of to decorate the shop along with their new items.
“They said they were coming the week after Valentine’s Day so it has been a really busy time for us but a perfect chance to change the shop around.
“We really didn’t think we would win the competition, we just entered for the fun of it!”

Now, in pride of place in their restyled shop is their framed certificate for customers to see.
Vicky, 38, who took over the shop last July with Jodie after working there for nine years, said the revamp was a welcome addition to their own redressing of the shop.
She said: “We keep it bright and fresh to give people something to look at and always change it to suit different occasion and seasons.
“It’s nice to get new ideas from others too. They have done a fantastic job and we’re so pleased.”
