A UNIQUE ‘HATS OFF’ charity event at Emmaus Mossley will on Thursday, July 2 will allow customers to bag collectables and rare vintage wares that often don’t make it to the shop-floor.

The event aims to celebrate all things Emmaus Mossley – a charity that supports formerly homeless people – and will take place at their second hand superstore on Queen Street.
The evening event will include a sale of interesting and unique donations, which are usually saved for display and hire ahead of sale.
Items will include Ercol furniture, clothes, collectables, 60’s and 70’s items, musical instruments, vintage tools and lots of hats.
There will also be a display of a ‘vintage’ themed wedding with all the items going on sale on the evening. There will also be a charity auction, music and tea, coffee and cakes.
Hazel Hodkinson, Shop Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “We are often approached by TV, film and theatre producers from the likes of BBC, ITV and Channel 4 for unique props and items to use in their productions.
“Our ‘Hats Off to Emmaus’ charity event aims to give our regular customers and supporters a chance to purchase some of these weird and wonderful items that are not normally for sale.”
Emmaus Mossley supports formerly homeless people – companions – by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods and vintage wares.
The event is a follow up to a successful event held in March when Companions, staff and volunteers handpicked the best vintage items and created unique displays to show off what Emmaus Mossley has to offer.
The ‘Hats Off to Emmaus’ event will take place on Thursday 2 July from 6:30pm at Emmaus Mossley, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley OL5 9AH.
