ENTHUSIASTIC MENTORS are being sought by Mahldo Youth Zone to support young people across Oldham as they celebrate the growing programme’s first birthday.
The Mahdlo Mentoring Programme was launched in 2014 and has gone from strength to strength to provide 45 mentors giving invaluable support to young people in the borough.
And now, as the first milestone was celebrated this month, more mentors are needed to spare a spare a couple of hours a week to make a difference in the life of a young person.
Nadine Cassidy and Amy Campbell, who run the programme, brought the group together to celebrate the birthday milestone along with the achievements of mentors and mentees.
Amy commented: “Everyone who has been involved with the project – be that mentors, young people or workers – is responsible for its success.
“Without the dedication and generosity of the mentors there would be no project. We wanted to recognise the invaluable service they offer and the benefits it brings to the young people.”
Two Open Events are being held so anyone interested in finding more about the Mentor Programme can pop into Mahdlo for an informal chat.
The events will be held at the Youth Zone on Wednesday 8 July, 5-9pm or Saturday 11 July, 1-5pm. Alternatively, Nadine and Amy can be contacted on: 0161 624 0111 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
