ENTHUSIASTIC VOLUNTEERS are invited to help out and make a difference at Age UK Oldham.
The organisation is currently looking for new volunteers to help out in their charity shops for just one morning or afternoon a week.
It is a great way for people to gain work experience, meet new people and give something back to support Oldham’s older people, as well as drive the charity shops forward.
A volunteer will work in any of the shops, which sell donated items such as bric-a-brac and books, around the borough.
Volunteers are involved in all aspects of shop work including sorting and pricing of goods, preparing items for sale, window dressing and helping to keep the shop clean and tidy.
Age UK Oldham provides opportunities for older people in the local area including traditional day care services, falls prevention classes, and disability, mobility and healthcare aids.
They also run a Life Stories scheme and other projects including a handyvan service, shopping service and lunch clubs.
