NO PRESSURE on Megan Rainton to achieve A-Level success at Oldham Sixth Form College – her mother works there.
Thankfully, the Springhead student achieved that was three A* grades.
The former Saddleworth School pupil was among hundreds – including one looking resplendent in a banana suit, after previously dressing as Santa Claus in the week leading up to Christmas – to celebrate at the Union Street West site.
And after learning of her grades in maths, further maths and chemistry, she is now looking forward to studying maths at Warwick University, with an eye on figures going forward.
Megan, whose mother teaches English at OSFC, said: “I imagine it’ll be something in finance because it’s maths, but I’m not entirely certain yet.
“And I got the call to come to college early, so that usually means I’ve done well. So I was quite happy to have got that.
“Then I saw that I got the university that I wanted. The main feeling was relief, I’m very happy.
“I knew I didn’t need three A*s, I only needed two to get on my university course, but I always wanted it.
“It was a lot of work, but I think going to Saddleworth School really set me up.”
