FRANCESCA Lloyd hopes her A-Level success can be welcomed by four-legged friends as she targets a career helping animals.
The Grotton teenager graduated from Oldham Sixth Form College with A* grades in biology and maths and an A in chemistry.
That has earned her a place on a course to study veterinary science at Cambridge University.
And now she can look ahead to life at Girton College, she has achieved what she wanted.
Francesca said: “I’ve always wanted to do veterinary science. It’s just down to the fact I really like animals.
“I’ve always wanted to do it since I was, like, a small kid and it’s just carried on.
“I work with animals too, through volunteering at Hillary Harry and Friends in Diggle.
“I definitely wanted to do this course. I didn’t really know where, but I didn’t expect to get into Cambridge.”
Francesca is not the only pupil of a class at St Anne’s Lydgate Primary School to go on to A-Level brilliance.
Megan Rainton also made the grades and even though a call the day before getting her results eased tensions, there were still nerves.
Francesca added: “I was very nervous. Excited, but very nervous.
“I got a call the day before, so that eased my nerves a little bit, but I was still nervous.”
