AN eye-catching exhibition delighted the community as well as raising £500 for Springhead Community Centre.
The popular annual Springhead Art Group Open Exhibition saw another great array of works from talented local artists on display from October 29 – November 5.

There were also demonstrations and workshops for visitors to enjoy, and the exhibition provided a huge success.
Gill Lees, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great success and we were able to donate £500 to the centre as well.
“We’d like to say thank you to our visitors and for the support raffle contribution from them, centre user groups and guest artists.
“There was a great buzz, with group and guest paintings of an amazing standard and a portrait demonstration by Olga Lomax.”
Best in the Show was awarded to ‘new girl’ Sheila Chapman, whose votes for three paintings totalled more than any other painting, while Pam Durrans and Gill Lees shared second place.
Gill added: “Group members worked hard in every way, with Dave Ralston at the helm and Julie Dixon our bestseller again. All of us are exhilarated at the outcome.”
