Families flock to fun-filled summer fairs across Saddleworth

FAMILIES FLOCKED to a fun-packed Summer Fair held jointly between Springhead and Lees at Springhead Football Club.

The field was filled with stalls selling toys, plants and more, as well as a bouncy castle, games and activities, live music, raffles, tombolas and refreshments.

And youngsters enjoyed donkey rides around the area from local company Oxhey Western Trail Rides, run by Helen Taylor.

Meanwhile in Scouthead, there was more fun for all ages at the annual event at Dawson’s Field organised by the Saddleworth and Lees District Partnership, working alongside the Scouthead and Austerlands Community Group.

Community group members delivered 2,000 leaflets to advertise the event, which attracted a huge number of families.

They enjoyed arts and crafts, donkey rides, an inflatable jungle run, cue ball crazy, a teddy bear’s picnic and much more.

And there were also stalls with representatives from local businesses and groups, including Men in Sheds as well as food and refreshments.
