First anniversary delight at Jadore Hair

THE MAYOR of Oldham took time out to have a quick hair cut as he visited Jadore Hair in Waterhead to celebrate the first birthday of the business.

The Mayor Cllr Derek Heffernan joined special guests, family and friends of salon director Becky Sykes for the party at Violet Hill Court last month.

The boutique hair salon was opened 12 months ago by Becky and offers high standards of hairdressing in a friendly atmosphere to clients from across Saddleworth and Oldham.

Cllr Heffernan said: “I was really pleased to be able to join Becky on her first anniversary. It is good to see a thriving new business which is clearly very popular with its customers.

“I have been very busy recently so took time to get a quick cut myself while I called in at the salon!”

Becky said: “My first year in business has been challenging on many levels but I have enjoyed every minute of it.

“It’s been scary at times taking the next step from being 100 percent mobile. But it’s also very exciting and it’s certainly been a busy first year.

“I take pride in my work, pushing myself doing hair competitions, learning new skills and keeping and on top of the game by attending regular advanced cutting and creative colouring courses.

“It’s not just a job, it is a passion and a career merged together. I’ve worked very hard to get started and had great support from my clients, friends and family. It’s a priceless feeling to make my clients feel good about themselves.

“To celebrate Jadore Hair’s first birthday is special. It means all those long hours, sleepless nights and hard work was worth it.

“Jadore Hair has big plans and big dreams. After one year, we are currently looking to expand our team by taking on another stylist and trainee.”
