AFTER finishing runners-up for the last three years, Friarmere finally got their hands on the Oldham Cricket Development Group Indoor League U9 title.

It was just rewards for what has been a transformation for a club with no junior section to one which is the envy of lots of clubs in the Oldham area.
Coach Gary Kershaw said: “Two years ago I had a really good group of kids at U9 level which prompted us to invest in the club by bringing in professional coaches.
“While this team where runners up to a very strong Royton team in the indoor league they did go on to win an unprecedented double in the outdoor season.
“That group of kids have continued with the club and it is testament to the clubs efforts that three have been included in the current Oldham U11 district squad.
“To be blessed with one team of this level is one thing but this latest bunch I keep telling people are even better and I very much look forward to seeing what they can achieve over the coming years.”
