GREENFIELD Cricket Club has secured major funding towards new changing rooms that could cost £100,000.
Grants have been secured from the English Cricket Board, Sport England and Action Oldham.
The club says it is moving towards applying for planning permission and tendering.
Club official Jon Mayor, who is project manager, estimates the cost will be between £90,000 and £100,000.
He said: “We have sourced funding from three sources which will enable us to proceed with the project.
“The changing rooms need replacing due to age. And while it will be essentially like for like, they will be upgraded significantly.
“The next hurdle to overcome will be getting planning permission for it to go ahead.”
Greenfield won’t begin work until the end of the 2018 cricket season, assuming we don’t encounter any problems.
