FUN ACTIVITIES for all the family will fill St Chad Church in Uppermill on Saturday, July 18 as part of their 800th anniversary celebrations.

Activities will include badge-making, banner-making, and an exciting mysterious craft activity connected to making footprints.

There will also be an opportunity to take part in a bug hunt and nature treasure hunt outside in the church yard, organised by Tim Edge, a member of the church congregation.

Former countryside ranger Tim maintains the lower churchyard and is already preparing small areas for bugs to hide under ready to be discovered.

There will a series of bug hunts lasting approximately half an hour each, so children and parents/carers need to be dressed appropriately as it may get muddy.

And all visitors can tuck into delicious refreshments which will be served at the Church Café just across the road.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer over 18 years of age and the admission cost is £2 per child.

Parking is advisable on Church Road itself, with the short walk down the hill to St Chad Church.
