CRAFTY DELIGHTS are returning to Saddleworth this summer at a host of handmade festivals and events.
Hosted by the Saddleworth Creative Network, a ‘Summer Saddleworth Handmade Festival’ offers a chance for guests to browse beautiful creations from local traders at the Uppermill Civic Hall on the weekend of June 20/21.
There will be 55 stalls of handmade products from local makers, including jewellery, food, soaps, gifts and more, with free entry and face-painting and free balloons for the children.
Some stalls offer an interactive element with demonstrations or a chance to have a go yourself.
There will also be a charity tombola raising money for ‘Saddleworth Museum’ and a tea-shop area provided by ‘Something Yummy Cakes & Catering’.
Then on Sunday, August 9 snap up goodies at a Vintage Inspired’ Handmade Festival at Uppermill Civic Hall from 11am to 4pm.
The event, with free entry, is part of the ‘Yanks Weekend’ annual celebrations and will offer over 55 stalls with retro and vintage inspired jewellery, clothing, gifts, crafts, furniture and food.
Many of the stall holders will get into the spirit of things by getting dressed up in 1940’s costume to recreate the atmosphere of wartime Britain – and you could join them by getting a vintage amek over and photo shoot.
Later in the year, there will be an Autumn Handmade Festival on the weekend of September 12/13 as well as a Food and Drink Festival on October 10/11. More details to follow.
