YOUNG PEOPLE can go radio gaga on Monday, July 27 as the Key 103 Media Bus rolls into Oldham town centre.
Oldham Council’s Get Oldham Working team is urging school and college leavers to visit the activity bus, which provides hands-on experience for those interested in pursuing media careers.
The bus provides the opportunity for young people to use state-of-the-art recording facilities and learn more about apprenticeships.
On hand will be a team from Positive Steps Oldham, which is successfully delivering an apprenticeship information, advice and guidance (IAG) service to schools, colleges and community partners.
They will talk about programmes available on the National Apprenticeship Scheme, including more than 250 careers, such as Law, Finance, Beauty, Business and Web Design.
The bus will be outside Primark on Market Place, from 10am to 3pm.
Ever since Oldham Council set up the Get Oldham Working campaign in May 2013 to support residents into sustainable employment around 500 apprenticeships and traineeships have been created.
Residents and businesses interested in finding out more about apprenticeship opportunities or providing them can visit the Get Oldham Working website. Alternatively send an email to employability@oldham.gov.uk or call 0161 770 4674.
