TAKE OFF on a new career path with the help of Oldham Council’s Get Oldham Working team and Manchester Airport.
They are laying on FREE transport for 100 local residents to and from Manchester Airport Jobs Fair on Wednesday, January 13.
More than 2,500 roles on offer include airport security, check-in staff, baggage handlers, cabin crew, retail, hospitality, aircraft dispatchers, engineering, drivers, customer service and receptionists.
As well as Manchester Airport itself, employers at the event will be World Duty Free group, The Nauance Group, Costa Coffee, WH Smith, Aviator, Menzies Aviation, Holiday Inn Express, Jet2.com, and Jet2Holidays.
Manchester Airport already employs 21,500 people on the site – and it supports a further 45,000 jobs in the region.
Councillor Shoab Akhtar, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “The Get Oldham Working team continuously work hard to provide and signpost employment opportunities for local people.
“We understand it can be difficult for many jobseekers to travel to interviews or meet employers so we hope this free coach journey will help residents find employment at a location that is growing and growing.
“Passenger numbers are increasing year on year which then brings with it more jobs. So I’d urge those looking for work to grasp this opportunity.”
To reserve a seat on the coach please attend Oldham Jobcentre Plus on Monday, January 11 (12.30–4pm) where you will also gain further knowledge about the opportunities available.
The coach will be leaving Oldham town centre twice on Wednesday, January 13:
- Leaving 11am returning 3pm
- Leaving 3pm returning 6pm
If you can make your own way to the huge jobs fair, it opens 12 noon until 7pm at Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport, Sunbank Lane, Altrincham, WA15 8XQ. Free admission and free parking.
There’s also a free shuttle bus from the airport train station every 30 minutes (first bus runs 30 minutes before opening and every 30 minutes thereafter).
