THE white rose will be flying high on Yorkshire Day on Sunday, July 29 in Uppermill.
The annual festivities promote the historic English county of Yorkshire, with Saddleworth sitting in the West Riding of Yorkshire.
In 2018, Yorkshire will be 1143 years old, so the Declaration of Independence will be read at 11.43am by the statue of Ammon Wrigley near Saddleworth Museum. Gather from 11.30am for the occasion which includes readings from special guests and the Saddleworth White Rose Society.
Then there will be a procession led by the band to the King George V playing fields, where there will be an afternoon of games, activities, stalls and refreshments.
