THE AM-AM, Saddleworth’s first major competition of the season, saw home players claim the first four places in the open tournament.
Lee Blainey and Lee Melia were clear-cut winners of the four-ball Stableford as they finished with 45 points.
They were two clear of runners-up Richard Cotton and Stuart Potts (43pts) while third were Ian and David Charnock (42) on the card from Ian McGloughlin and Steve Taylor.
ALAN Squires led the way for Lancashire who qualified for the finals of the English Seniors for a third successive year.
The 63-year-old from Lees helped Lancashire record a 24 shot margin of victory over runners-up Cumbria in the Northern Finals at a wet and breezy Ilkley where seven counties competed.
And Squires claimed the individual honours for the 36-hole competition with a two-round total of 141 which was three shots clear of Cheshire’s Dave Nelson who was in second spot.
