THREE siblings are braving the shave as they aim to raise £1,000 for The Christie Hospital in honour of their mum.
Donna Jones and her brothers Daniel and Scott will all have their heads shaved as part of a huge family fun day at The Clarence, Greenfield on Saturday, October 7.
The trio, from Greenfield, have organised the event to raise funds and awareness for The Christie, which has helped care for their mum Carol, who has stage three lung cancer.
Donna said: “I am getting nervous now as it’s closer to the date but I know it’s worth it and it’s for such a good cause.
“We stand by our mum to show her support and this is just a fraction of what she’s going through. I just wish I could do more!
“My hair will be donated so Christies can put more smiles on people’s faces and make them feel like themselves again, like they have done with my mum.
“We are aiming to raise £1,000 and anything more is just a huge bonus.
“My sister Sophie won’t be here for the event unfortunately but this is the last time my mum will feel well enough to be out and about.”
The family fun day will be held from 12pm-6pm at The Clarence, including a DJ, disco, barbeque, kids crafts, face paint, bouncy castle, stalls and more.
There will also be a ‘Make a wish’ balloon release at sunset. All money goes to The Christie.
