A MOUTH-WATERING buffet was served up for councillors and guests at a Luncheon hosted by Saddleworth Parish Council’s chairman as her reign draws to a close.
Cllr Pam Byrne’s year in office ends in May so last month she was still fitting in as many fundraising functions as possible to cap off a busy year.
Around 30 guests joined Cllr Byrne for the Luncheon at the Civic Hall in Uppermill, which included a delicious hot buffet and desserts by Manns Wharf Catering.

There was a raffle to raise funds for the Chairman’s chosen charities, and then a speech by special guest Rona Catterall.
Her speech, entitled ‘Rhyme and Reason’ delved into the history of nursery rhymes, in a light-hearted and entertaining way.
Rona explained: “I do various speeches and this is one of the topics. I wanted to do something a bit different. It’s all to raise money for Cancer Research and I’ve raised more than £10,000 so far.”
