HOME INSTEAD Senior Care has topped the league table of home care providers for the elderly in England.
Complied by healthcare information specialist Laing and Buisson, the latest quarterly table compares more than 8,000 home care branches nationwide according to Care Quality Commission’s performance.
Home Instead ranked first with 97.8 per cent of their 150 branches being fully compliant with core standards including care, safeguarding, staffing, management and respect for clients.
Mick Sheehan, managing director of the Saddleworth and Oldham branch which opened in 2009, commented: “It’s credit to the hard work and dedication of our wonderful caregivers and the support of our passionate management team that keeps us at the number one spot.”
CEO of Home Instead, Trevor Brocklebank, added: “Because we set our standards above those required by CQC, I would expect Home Instead to score highly.
“Our 97 per cent score and consistent performance reflects our high standards and the quality care that we deliver day in day out.”
Home Instead offers tailored services for older people seven days a week including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, shopping and errands.
Mencap, a not-for-profit organisation which specialises in services for people with learning disabilities, secured the overall top score with 98 per cent with Home Instead in second but top for elderly care.
