UPPERMILL professional Ayas Tasawar has joined a select band of cricketers to have scored six sixes in one over.
It came for Uppermill Uproar in their Marstons T20 victory against Micklehurst Mad Dogs.
Tasawar struck six sixes off the bowling of Andy Kohler as he made 142 out of Uppermill’s 294 for three.
“I have been playing for 60 years and it was one of the best knocks I have seen. It was very destructive,” said club official Jim Bradbury.
Tasawar’s 142 came off 54 balls and included 15 sixes and nine fours. And the last half century came off only 10 balls.
He shared in a 178-run second-wicket partnership with Jack Shaw who made 83.
Micklehurst, in reply, hit 153 for six, Jamie Forrester making 62 and overseas player Rico Hurley 47.
Ayas said “This is the first time I have hit six sixes in England but I have done it twice before in Pakistan.”
