DELVE into the past with a series of illustrated talks about the rich history of the area.

EXCAVATIONS: Recent diggings at the Castleshaw site

On Wednesday, September 17, there will be an Illustrated Talk and AGM of Friends of Castleshaw Roman Forts at the Civic Hall in Uppermill at 7.30pm.

The talk by Norman Redhead will include an overview of Castleshaw and a look at the recent excavations and future strategy.

Then on Wednesday, October 15, there will be an Illustrated Talk about Chariot Burials of the Iron Age by Melanie Giles (University of Manchester) at the Civic Hall at 7.30pm.

And on Wednesday, November 19, find out more about the Jubilee Colliery and Coking Ovens at Shaw with an Illustrated Talk by Ian Miller (Oxford Archaeology North) at the Civic Hall at 7.30pm.
