Independent Quarter ticks all the right boxes for firm

OLDHAM’S GROWING Independent Quarter has attracted another new firm – whose business is preventing dangers at home and at work.

All Survey has set up in 11 Rhodes Street, creating five new full-time jobs and a nationwide service in the process.

The company is a team of experienced and fully qualified surveyors, whose aim is to make properties safe for the people who work and live in them, and ensure they are more energy efficient.

A large percentage of the jobs they tackle involve taking practical steps to document and control the threat of asbestos and legionella.

The company’s new offices being officially opened following a ribbon cutting performed by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillorr Shadab Qumer

For the last six months Oldham Council staff from our Town Centre team have been working with All Survey and the firm will be receiving grant assistance.

Councillor Jean Stretton, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “The Independent Quarter is already home to a wide range of businesses and we are glad to welcome All Survey as the latest.

“Over the last few years the area has firmly established itself as a business, leisure and retail destination where digital firms operate side by side with new restaurants.

“We want businesses like All Survey to set up in the town centre, and whether they are looking at occupying a council or privately owned building, we’ll assist and support them as best we can.”

All Survey director Ruth Wyers, said: “We are delighted to be moving back to Oldham and look forward to working more closely with the community.

“The grant that we have received has allowed us to install a new energy efficient boiler, improvements to bring in natural daylight and towards setting up our laboratory so we can increase the number of services that we can provide.”

Since the Independent Quarter initiative was launched in 2013 a number of traders have already moved or relocated into new premises after receiving support.

The initial focus is to support businesses in the Independent Quarter in the triangle between Yorkshire Street, Clegg Street and Union Street East.
