PUPILS AT Knowsley Junior School in Springhead enjoyed a taste of nineteenth century life as they turned back the clock during their Victorian Week.
Special lessons included Victorian arithmetic, English and history, as well as learning about the local area in the period.
Miss Liz Sharples, who co-ordinated the event, said: “Each year group learnt about a different aspect of 19th century life – school, children at work, our local area during the Victorian period and the impact of the cotton industry in Oldham.
“Our week culminated in a Victorian School day where everyone dressed and behaved as they would have done at the time.”
